On behalf of Developing the Self Developing the World, Melanie Deefholts will share an overview of when and how to work with children as they grow towards adolescence. This discussion centres around practical support throughout their development and helpful next steps that educators and parents can engage in to support adolescents within their family and community.
It will offer an understanding of how to meet children in various ages and stages of their growth, exploring ways we can talk about puberty as a change not only in the physical but inwardly as well. We will explore age appropriate behaviours around bodily changes and awakening curiosities.
Together we will gather practical ideas on how to support our children through these changes, how to begin conversations and use life and nature to support an wholistic approach to this aspect of caring for children.
Invitations will be sent by the school.
