Healthy Relationships with Self and Others: Social Understanding Gender and Sex Education

Visiting Classes 4-12 and speaking with parents and the school faculty.

This program offered by Developing the Self Developing the World brings anthroposophy to help understand relationships and the responsibility of community in raising children and working together to promote individual wellbeing.

We look at how and when we work with children and adolescents to bring the understanding of sexuality and gender in relation to where they are in their consciousness. This brings harmony between the evolving body and inner experiences that sets the ground for healthy adult experience.

It speaks to some of main issues confronting child health and wellbeing in current times, with examples of how we can counter the unbalancing effects. We also address how to understand gender differences and similarities that both limit or free us and the contribution and struggles of the changing social structures around gender and sexuality affecting us all.

The program is delivered by Developing the Self Developing the World programs facilitator, Meaghan Witri.

Responding to the Challenges in the Age of Technology; Spirit-led Community – Moving into the Future

Community or society consists of individuals; each person is an indispensable part of it. Individual's thoughts, feelings and consciousness affects the quality of the group's work. Inter-personal relationship and interactions shapes the appearance and atmosphere of the community. Who leads the community? -- a single leader? a core group (centered power)? or other forces?

How to formulate the directions of a certain community? In the age of materialism and individualism, everyone stands on their  own footholds to form their respective worldviews which get increasingly firm and unmovable, while the specialization (professional divison) getting increasingly detailed and divided. What can connect among the individualized views? What can transcend personal differences and uniqueness?

From individual's point of view, why do I join a certain community? What does my relationship with the community mean to my life? How can I development myself so that I become like a healthily enlivened cell to support the community become stronger and more resillent? In what ways do the technology impact personal and community development?

Spirit-led Childhood: Enkindling the Flame of Our Hearts to Meet the Children of Today

Spirit-led Childhood: Enkindling the Flame of Our Hearts to Meet the Children of Today

An online international conference over 3 days in February.

The conference offers a deepening awareness towards understanding the essential spiritual foundations that underlie a spirit-led life. Through education, we can work with the unfolding future in the present moment, creatively and with guidance from the spirit. As the next generations become more individualised, our task in education grows to meet them.

We will explore how we can work to perceive the child as an unfolding individual through stages of growth and development from early childhood  to adolescence. Educators, health practitioners, artists and gardeners work together to offer workshops for weaving life into the curriculum to support future generations towards a living relationship with the spirit as they grow and develop throughout their adult life.

Day 1 and Day 2 of the conference has a keynote and 2 sessions with workshops. Each day opens at 8am Saturday/Sunday (Sydney, Australia) which is 4pm Friday/ Saturday in New York.
Day 3 of the conference begins 2 hours earlier and has a keynote only (no workshops).

Parzival and the Hermit - told by Séamus Maynard

The story leads us alongside Parzival into an experience of the potential to deepen our commitment to our highest ideals, while also facing all of that which has led us astray from that striving. In recognition of the Easter mystery, this offering is given freely to the community by members of Developing the Self Developing the World.

Along with 3 keynotes by Lisa Romero, our team of educators, artists, and health professionals from Australia and the USA will be providing various workshops that will focus on Early Childhood, Primary School, and High School. This conference welcomes educators, parents, homeschool parents, and caregivers.

As the forms of education undergo the shifts and changes of our current world situation there is a call that can be heard by many. It is a call for a spirit-led education through which the truth of the human being can be given what is essential for their path.

There are certain forces bestowed in the growing child that prepare them to engage in life that are connected to their inner life and the spiritual world, and not only to the material, sensory life. It is these forces that allow us to recognise the reality stated by Rudolf Steiner that “nothing but the will to live life in a spiritual way, the will to allow spiritual decisions and spiritual motivations, to play a part in what we do in the physical world, can make humanity truly healthy again”. As material life intensifies, these forces will be more rapidly extinguished unless they are consciously held and renewed by the adults surrounding the growing child.

FEES
Whole Course (Keynotes and Workshops) : $75 AUD (~$54USD)

3 Keynotes only (no Workshops): $40 AUD (~$29 USD)

Preventative Health Care from an Anthroposophic Perspective (for children to 9 years old)

Preventative Health Care from an Anthroposophic Perspective (for children to 9 years old)

This is a practical workshop for educators who are introducing wellbeing, health and hygiene curriculums, parents and soon to be parents, grandparents and caregivers educating and caring for children to 9 years of age

with Lynette Clifton and Louise Schnitzhofer

A 90 minute online workshop - $20 (AUD)

Sydney - Sunday, May 30 at 9am
Perth - Sunday, May 30 at 7am
New York - Saturday, May 29 at 7pm

Preventive health care for the young child is fundamentally based on providing a health-giving environment because they rely upon others for nourishment and are yet to develop boundaries from their surroundings. Illness can arise when the child does not have the strength to deal with what enters them.

Artificial intelligence has become a part of every environment within which the young child is united. However children lack discernment of the Sense of Self and Other. By applying rhythmical and natural health-giving applications to the senses and through the skin we can balance the effects of technology and support each child towards wholistic wellbeing.

This hands-on workshop introduces anthroposophic preventative health care applications to the skin that can be carried into the daily rhythms of the classroom and home life. These practises can be adapted and extended to suit the individual, classroom and family needs. They build healthy practises of self-care for life that help to maintain wellbeing while also developing a healthy sense of Self and care for the other.

Each participant will be required to bring some basic equipment such as towels, hot water bottle and lemon to partake in the workshop. The experience can be assistive for participants heading into sleep as well as for those re-aligning with oneself for the day.

This workshop is within the Developing the Self the Developing the World Health and Wellbeing Program: Healing the Impacts of Technology - Care and Development of the Senses which begins in early childhood. Children and adults are supported towards capacities for community-orientated participation in the world. Contact us for additional workshops that support older children and adults.

Anthroposophy, as a science, embraces spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive and physical aspects of the human being.
