Supporting Children in Today's World

with Lisa Bono, Brigitte Ryan, Meaghan Witri, and Sarah Mecca.

Over two sessions, we will develop and grow our own capacities as caregivers to perceive behaviors in children and find pathways towards supporting healthy growth and development. We will focus on the care and development of the sensory system, which lays the ground for the capacities of healthy attention, attachment, and self-regulation. These capacities are essential for learning and development throughout childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. Each session will include space to work with participant questions and experiences on these themes.

These workshops are held every month and provide an option of a morning or evening group.

Tuesday night (6:30-8:30pm) or Wednesday morning (10am - 12pm)

Working with the archetypal care qualities of enfolding, holding and warming we will begin to prepare the basis for our home wellbeing kit that supports and harmonies our senses, strengthens and develops confidence and capacities in our children towards their own self care and that of others, and encourages and supports our body's self healing and uprightness. During the evening we will be introduced to enfolding , holding and warming , the sphagnum moss and its protective qualities, and the uplifting and harmonising lemon face cloth.
This practical workshop will offer participants an opportunity to begin to create their family's home health care kit whilst replenishing themselves on the various levels.

Covid requirements will be applied.

Supporting Farmer Health and Well-being at the Biodynamic Association Conference

with Anthony Mecca and Sarah Hearn at the North American Biodynamic Association Conference

Unfortunately, farm life is not inherently healthy, and, in fact, the demands of an agricultural lifestyle can at times be at odds with the well-being of farmers, farmworkers, and apprentices alike, on various levels. This workshop will draw on Rudolf Steiner's indications for understanding health and illness and explore how we can perceive and support our health needs on the farm, including understanding our constitutional tendencies, cosmic and earthly nutritional needs, and external therapeutic applications to support health and well-being and deepen our work on the farm. Together, we will form a picture of how we can care for our own health and well-being alongside the health and well-being of the farm.

Caring for Children in the 21st Century

  • Chrysalis Steiner School (map)

In an increasingly persuasive world that distracts us from our path, it has never been more necessary to strengthen and guide children to be themselves. Home and school environments are still the major influences on the foundations that are laid for a child to support them in finding their individual path. This weekend workshop focuses on how we as parents, caregivers and teachers can approach each child with fresh eyes so that our care in their development assists them in engaging with the world in a harmonious way.

Care & Development of The Senses in Childhood

This one-day workshop offers examples of how a child's behaviour at school and home can be observed in a way that encourages us to seek the individual behind the behaviour. We'll look at each of the 12 senses that Rudolf Steiner describes in anthroposophy and how an understanding of hyper and hypo tendencies of these senses influences child development. This understanding can enable us to look at our children with fresh eyes and bring positive ways to encourage them to…
